Clinical / Medical Negligence
Mrs S benefited successfully from our services:
Mrs S underwent plastic surgery to remove excessive skin around her eyes known as an upper and lower lid blepharoplasty. Following the surgery, she was unable to fully close her eyelids and suffered extreme pain to her eyes as a result. Her vision was disturbed and she suffered with dry eyes with a risk of ulcers, infections and blindness.
She suffered from headaches, blurred vision, and soreness and experienced everyday practical difficulties such as getting soap in her eyes when washing her hair as she could not fully close her eyes.
Following our involvement and support and reliance on an independent medical specialist we were able to prove that the treatment received was below the standard of care expected for this surgery; in particular, but not limited to, too much skin being removed from the upper eyelids so that there was not enough skin left to close the eyes fully due to an incorrect measurement being taken from Mrs S’s tattooed eyebrow which was higher than her true eyebrow.
We were able to support Mrs S throughout a very traumatic experience when she was particularly vulnerable and distressed and advice and guide her through the legal process to ensure a successful outcome only after she had undergone treatment and the full extent of her pain, suffering and loss of amenity and financial losses and expenses could be properly assessed. This ensured the best possible outcome for Mrs S in her best interests.
